Speccy!

Years pass imperceptible, and it comes to the day when ZX Spectrum celebrates its 30th anniversary!

The idea was really good, and reminds me of a modern research towards the creation of a home multimedia center based on PC. A small console is using your TV as a monitor and home cassette player as a boot device. Price of ZX Spectrum was also affordable in comparison with competitors. Naturally, the conservative "TV people" (and my Mom was among them) immediately began to spread rumors, that these consoles (including gaming) "spoil" TVs. But now I know that our games simply prevented them from watching news and soap operas =)))

"Specky" was so popular that it spawned a huge number of clones around the world. And now the passion for this console is not over: for example in Russia you can buy a kit to build the Spectrum-compatible ZX Evolution, demo-parties are also paying attention to this category of programmers and coders. Well, and of course there were dozens of emulators of the platform released, because the fans of "Load Runner" are still there. Aesthetes might still be happy with a great graphics palette of 15 colors and unforgettable sound of the 8-bit games!

By the way, the founder of ZX Spectrum Clive Sinclair was awarded the Knight Dignity, and "Sir" title. Great movie "Micro Men" will help you to feel the atmosphere of scientific research of the time, it shows opposition of Sir Sinclair with his former colleague Chris Curry, who later became an ideologue "Acorn Computers".
